Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Primary School, A Voluntary Academy

Our Academy Trust and School Partnerships

Our school is part of a Multi-Academy Trust, St Gilbert of Sempringham Catholic Academy Trust, which opened in May 2013. We are a Trust of six schools: St Hugh's, Our Lady of Lincoln and St Peter and St Paul, all in Lincoln; and the federated schools of St Augustine in Stamford and English Martyrs in Oakham.

We have been working together in a variety of ways including:

  • An inauguration Mass celebrated by Bishop Malcolm McMahon at the EPIC Centre, Lincoln Showground in January 2014;
  • RE Leaders from all schools working with their Liturgy Teams to plan and celebrate liturgies together;
  • Head Teachers sharing expertise and support of one another to improve outcomes for all children;
  • Middle Leaders supporting the professional development of teachers at other schools;
  • Teachers working together to moderate RE, Y6 writing and maths and EYFS observations and assessments;
  • EYFS teachers sharing expertise, good practice and training;
  • Year 4 yearly sports day led by Sports Leaders at St Peter and St Paul;
  • Head Teachers carrying out peer reviews of one another's schools to support school improvement.
